World Record Reading Attempt!

Sighthill Library is playing host to Guinness World Records on August 19th as they attempt to break the record for the Longest Reading Chain by getting 350 people, including author Theresa Breslin, each to read a line from the same book.  The record is currently held by the people of Vienna, Austria, who got 290 people involved in 2010.

As someone who lacks any sporting prowess, the ability to eat 12 pies in 2 minutes, or 2 metre long fingernails, I reckon this is my best, if not only, chance to ever be part of a genuine world record, so I’m going to be one of the readers.

Why not get involved if you’re in Edinburgh and read a line yourself?  All you have to do is register with Sighthill Library on 0131 529 5566. See you there!
