Summer Reading

The summer book season is kicking off nicely now… I had a lovely time at the launch of the new Birlinn children’s list, BC – Bold Books for Curious Kids – earlier this week, talking to authors like Joan Lennon and Bob Harris and looking at some of  Birlinn’s excellent new children’s books. Great to see yet another showcase for children’s literature in Scotland.

On Wednesday, it’s the launch of this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival. I can’t wait to see the programme – browsing it is one of my favourite annual treats – and I’m even more excited than usual this year, for reasons that will shortly become apparent…

And next weekend I’m appearing at the wonderful Borders Book Festival. I’ll be talking about What Makes Your Body Work as part of the Family Festival  at 12.15 on Sunday 14th June. Come along if you want to find out more about your amazing body, and do some experiments on yourself!

If only the weather would join in with the summer theme!

Right. Back to the ink face.
